Telling stories from unexpected perspectives

Established in January of 2018, SoHo Shakespeare Company was formed around founding artistic director Alex Pepperman's show The Sisters, adapted from Shakespeare's Macbeth.  After that first production he teamed up with Laura Yumi Snell, executive director.  Together they have grown this company into the wonder it is today.

Since its establishment, SoHo Shakes has continued to produce extraordinary works of theater including The Sisters, adapted from Shakespeare's Macbeth; PlayOnline: a series of online shows - including: The SistersMary RoseThe TempestBAM: Black Arts Matter;

 The Lady Doth Protest (LDP); and workshops of The Sisters and Mary Rose or The Woman Who Died Twice.  Our 2020 season includes LDP; our cabaret Fierce; and our main-stage production Le Tartuffe Orange, The Orange Hypocrite.

"Both tough and lighthearted, you will feel their passion, drive, and desire to help you create your most organic work.  It is obvious that this is not just a job for them.  The dedication with which they work is a testament to the concentrations of the stage actors I admire most."

Putting in the hard work with someone so knowledgeable gave me the extra confidence I needed once I actually stepped into the audition room. All goes to say — I booked the role! 11/10 would recommend SoHo Shakes coaching and I will be back!

"Their unique approach to Shakespeare and text work allowed me to grow immensely as a performer in an incredibly short period of time.  I understand the language in a new way, and thanks to SoHo Shakes, I know that the audiences I perform for will too."
